• A little Bit About Us

Etchingham has an elderly, but well used village hall, with plans to build a new hall, hopefully in the not too distant future.

The hall consists of a main hall, with stage and kitchen facilities, with a smaller annexe at the rear.

The hall is licensed for Public Entertainments, by the Licensing Authority, Rother District Council. There is a Seven Day Theatre Licence, which allows the performance of stage plays etc. on seven seperate days during the year.

The Etchingham Institute has visits from other Institutes in the area, and there is the opportunity to attend courses at Denman College.

Etchingham Women’s Institute celebrated its 80th Birthday in June 1999, which makes it one of the older groups in the U.K.
Etchingham has one member who has been attending meetings for 70 years, and still attending regularly, which is something of a unique achievement.

Etchingham meetings are always well attended, and the aim is to achieve a friendly atmosphere

The Women’s Institute offers opportunities for all women to enjoy friendship, to learn to widen their horizons, and together to influence local, National and International affairs.
